“You know me, I want to burn the least amount of calories then die. And laugh like a hyena in my casket.”
“Who decided ‘The Blob’ was scary, by the way? It sounds like your fat aunt from Poughkeepsie came to stay the weekend.”
“I have no connection with Hollywood. I’m not interested. I don’t care.”
“I don’t think I’ve ever seen pie advertised. That’s how you know it’s good. They advertise ice cream and other desserts. They advertise the bejeezus out of yogurt, but I haven’t seen one pie commercial.”
If none of these quotes are ringing any bells, stop reading and return to your home in communist China. If you don’t like pie or haven’t heard of the Man Show, you won’t understand this post at all. If you don’t ever listen to the Adam Carolla podcast, you will likely not find Mangria interesting. Before we get into the details of Mangria, you need to understand the story behind it first. The legend begins with Adam Carolla finding himself a half glass short of red wine and needed to fill the rest of it up. He topped the glass off with vodka and thought it was still a little bitter so he threw in some orange juice and other fruit. The concoction known as Mangria was born and has now become extremely popular.
The drink boasts a robust 20.9% alcohol content which means you will get your mind right extremely quick. The drink is stiff but has a good sweetness to it with some fruity fragrances that float up your hairy nostrils. We went and looked at a few different reviews online and realized that a lot of wine snobs had been reviewing this drink and judging it because it was “college in a bottle” (meaning you get wasted quickly). Our first question is, “why is that a bad thing?”. The second questions is, “does it make you mad that you put this drink on ice instead of swishing it around your mouth and spitting it out to properly taste it?”. We hate snobs of any kind and alcohol/wine snobs are some of the worst. The drink is gaining in popularity and we love how this drink was created. Carolla has been running his very popular podcast (and new show called Catch a Contractor) and has now built a booze empire. There is a new peach/pear flavor that seems to be an instant hit as well.
