If you rely on your smartphone to wake you up in the mornings, you quickly realize that there isn’t a peaceful noise located on it that will gradually wake you up. Instead you shoot straight out of bed because it sounds like the alarm that goes off in war right before the air raid begins. There are a lot of nightstand clocks out there that offer the gradual alarm clock feature but they do so by starting a low noise and slowly growing in volume. If you are anything like us at Gadgets 4 Guys, we actually can wake up on the drop of a pin and have a hard time getting back to bed afterwards (so we basically wake up a half hour early and can’t get back to sleep). The Aurora Wake Up Clock aims to fix that by simulating natural light and put the sunrise in your room.
The first question we had looking at this gadget was if it only relied on light because we sleep on our side and could completely ignore the light if we were facing the right direction (and hungover enough). The Aurora Clock also combines peaceful sounds that will combine with the natural glow of a sunrise gradually bringing you out of that deep sleep. The nice thing about the reflective clock is you can double it as a nightlight if you have to get out of bed multiple times to pee (we know you old men are paying attention now). The light will actually glow at night and be somewhat subtle about illuminating the room.
We are too addicted to our smartphones and have such limited nightstand space that we haven’t tried any gradual wake up clocks out there but the Aurora clock seems to be a good one. Not having to rely on loud and annoying noises will give you a break and if we were super smart, we would probably talk about sleep cycles, etc. But we aren’t so make your own decision about this gradual wake up clock.
