We all have that one low life friend that is pushing 40 and has never been able to really get his life in order. If you are reading this and don’t think you have a friend like that, we have to give you the bad news that you are indeed “that friend”. This guy still calls you up on Tuesday nights when the only sport on is baseball to try and convince you to come out to Applebees and get trashed with him. Who wants to do that? Find a real sport and a real bar and you would have a much better shot and getting us to go. What is the upside of a friend like this? He is always willing to go out with you and have fun. The downside? He always has way too much fun. Before you know it you are getting calls from the county jail with him begging on the other end to come pick you up and pay bail on his latest DUI. What does he need? Probably a sober driver at all times but we can only do the next best thing which is give him a portable breathalyzer that will tell him to toss the keys and call a cab.
The Breathometer is a nifty little gadget that we found that is the world’s first (their claim, not ours) smartphone integrated breathalyzer. It would seem that something this awesome would require some difficult programming to setup but according to their website and Indiegogo campaign you simply have to plug the device in, breath your stank breath into it, and you will be instantly shown how much of an alcoholic you truly are. There are obviously a lot of drunks out there that are willing to get behind this campaign because they only had a $25,000 crowdfunding goal and at last check just crossed $66k. They hope to start shipping this sweet little gadget that conveniently attaches itself to your keys in July of 2013.
We hope that they meet the shipping date especially with the high expectations people have begun to set. A lot of this crowdfunding projects struggle to get out on time much like your friend Rick who has to be thrown out of Applebees at closing every Tuesday night. Don’t be an idiot driver and pick yourself up one of these today.
