Price: Under $200
There was something that happened in the mid 2000’s to the game of disc golf. It slowly began to be populated with people that didn’t have a goal of getting completely stoned and look like the cast of the awesome 90’s movie PCU. Instead it began to be populated by the everyday lowlife college student that realized the sport only cost the price of a frisbee and not some recurring fee. The cheapness factor is what made this game great along with the fact you required zero actual physical capability. I’m sure that the hippy running around on the course with dreadlocks wasn’t super pumped about this change but the sport became that much more mainstream.
Fast forward to modern day (yeah, a whole 10 years) and several of those mainstream people have families and other fun activities they are required to tend to each weekend. Disc Golf time has almost been completely eliminated which is sad but luckily over at Instructables they have given us the hope to play this amazing game in the backyard. The best part? They showed us step by step how to do it and just like the main theme of the game, this DIY disc golf goal is cheap to do. We all already make trips up to Lowes each weekend (yep, that is what our lives have come to) so what does it hurt to pick up a few more supplies while you’re there. As we went through the steps the supply list isn’t very long and it looks like the only challenging part of this project is being able to cut the chains to the proper link. You will have to do your best Cool Hand Luke impression and saw those chains but it will be worth it. From there it is some minor PVC pipe cutting and you will be playing Disc Golf in the backyard with your college roommates once again. That last part Gadgets 4 Guys can’t promise because all men might not be able to get out of little league soccer that Saturday. Click here for image source and step by step instructions.
