There are a lot of things that we hate doing around the house. Mowing the lawn in 100 degree weather will make any man want to replace his grass with sand. We also hate pulling weeds because it doesn’t matter how much we spray them, they always seem to come back. The final straw? Fall is coming and that can mean only one thing for yard work and that is leaves. There will be leaves in the gutter, there will be leaves in the yard. You will have leaves coming out of your ears and your mower will get stopped up if you try and mulch it all. Your other choice is to spend hours with a stupid rake trying sweep up the yard and cry each time you see another leaf drop after you get done. Skip that and get an ECHO leaf blower.
We got our hands on a demo of one of the ECHO blowers and were (prepare for pun) blown away. We have tried and used other blowers but one thing that really stood out to us was the ability it had to not completely wear your hand out. Hand-held leaf blowers have a high propensity for constantly pushing back against your grip so when you complete blowing leaves, you feel like you just got done arm wrestling with Sly Stallone in Over The Top. We found that the PB-250LN has a curved pipe giving it a technology ECHO calls “Rotational Control” which is the scientific term for “you’re arms won’t feel like they will fall off”. Outside of the push back on a blower, the other most important thing you should consider in purchasing a blower would be the start-up time. Anybody that has dealt with a blower or even weed whacker that won’t start on the first pull will know just how frustrating it can be. We made sure to test the ECHO blower both cold and hot and each of the 10+ times it kicked on after one single pull. We actually have some film on the blower in action which includes a video of just how easy it is to start the blower. Prepare yourself for the coming Fall months and the millions (maybe billions) of leaves that will suffocate your lawn. Cut down the time, effort, and actually have some fun doing so.
