There is an obesity epidemic sweeping across the nation that has touch millions of dog owners. Several dogs have become so fat that their bellies drag across the ground and the amount of sweat and regret that comes through their pores can stink up an entire house. As a dog owner you have a responsibility to stop feeding your dog unhealthy food (fried foods are only meant for you chubby, not the dog) and to get Fido out of the house for some exercise. Life can hold us up and make us forget these little details though so FitBark is trying to reach production. There are a million different exercise and health bracelets out there for humans so it makes sense that we have one for our best friend.
FitBark is a tiny little square that rests on your dogs collar and it actually measures and tracks the amount of activity your puppy does in a given day. FitBark connects to a wireless signal and has a “home base” that registers back to an app that allows you to check on the activity of your dog at any time (as long as it is connected to that base). We have all thought that our lazy dogs just lay around all day but FitBark could actually confirm it. And if you have a doggy door, FitBark can tell you how much your dog actually rolls around out in the yard.
FitBark seems like a lot of money at $100 (we think that is the price based off of a previous KickStarter campaign they had) but if you were one of the smart people that got a dog instead of a kid, you probably have some extra cash to spend on Fluffy. The FitBark website says there is another KickStarter campaign beginning this month so be sure to support them when it launches. Click here for image source and more information.
