Men love tools. It is in our blood and was somehow ingrained into our DNA when the caveman created the first tool out of stone. Since then, we cannot go into a Home Depot or Lowes without having to take 20 minutes to go down the tool aisle. Do we need that tool that can sharpen a steak knife? Probably not but we better get it just in case. A lot of men measure themselves by the amount of tools that they own while others pay people to do things around the house. There is nothing worse than trying to tell another man what you need done and he looks at you like, “you really can’t do that yourself” as he walks off with your man card.
We want to be clear that the size of the tool doesn’t matter but the effectiveness that it possesses (yes, we realize what that sounded like). Some of the best tools are the ones that you can keep on you at all times. Guys have a limited amount of real estate that reside within their pockets. You have to carry your keys and cell phone in your front pockets (guy rule: men don’t carry their phone in their back pocket) and with every iteration of a new phone, the screen size gets bigger and you lose real estate. So any tool that we’re considering being an everyday carry tool needs to be small, effective, and be used regularly. We found the Get-A-Way Driver Pocket Tool on ThinkGeek and were impressed with what this little tool could accomplish. You have a screwdriver, Phillips bits, flat head, an LED flashlight, and a bottle wrench for those happy hour sessions in the garage. Click here for image source and where to buy.
