We are based out of Kansas City. That means we just received snow in the last week and have experienced subzero temperatures. Aside from a few specific areas of the US, the rest of the nation has been frozen over. However, there is the occasional special day where the planets align perfectly and we get a 60 degree weather day in the middle of February. We get a taste of the good life and begin dreaming of heading to the lake, sitting out on a patio watching March Madness, and wearing sandals with socks. What always seems to happen once we get outside is we want to play a soundtrack to our lives but unfortunately music isn’t always that portable. Up until the last couple of years, we haven’t seen much headway in this technology but JBL has come out with the Charge 2 Portable Speaker.
With the Charge 2 Speaker you get a rechargeable lithium ion battery that can power the speaker for several hours of jams. You can also leave it plugged in if you’re worried about running the battery out or want to charge your phone. You can play music via the Bluetooth technology or if you don’t have that available, there is an auxiliary output as well. We actually have one of these ourselves and they are super easy to switch between devices. That way when your buddy tries to play Nickelback for the fifth time in one night, you can quickly take over the speaker and play that Britney Spears LP you love. The sound quality was the most pleasant surprise. Portable speakers are often lacking when it comes to playing a bit of bass to the music which gives off a weak quality of music.
