It has been entirely too long since we talked about Apple or the iPhone in general so we made sure to pick out a gadget to feature today that would satisfy our appetite. The smartphone accessories market has become very congested with speakers, phone holders, but most of all cases. There are a million different types of iPhone cases out there and each one brings something different to the table. You can get the extremely bulky and heavy waterproof cases (boo) or one of the ultra thin cases that may or may not actually protect your phone from a drop. There are “make your own phone cases” that will allow you to place your own pictures on the phone case or ones that come in character shapes like Monster Inc (immediately doubling the size of your phone). You can get a Hello Kitty phone case at just about any mall in the US. We have noticed that for all of the smartphone accessories out there, very few are actually smart. Until Lunecase.
Lunecase is a current KickStarter project that has already more than doubled it’s goal of $50k which shows people are excited about it. The case itself is very sleek (and built just for the iPhone by the way) and has a very nice design to it. You can tell the designers tried to match the current design of the phone and not take anything away from that amazing Apple design (something very few cases actually do). Lunecase will actually use the electromagnetic energy that apparently surrounds each phone (bit scary to think about) and power the light up notifications. If you get a phone call, the phone emblem will actually light up on the case. If you get a text, a different text icon will light up and it’s all driven from the preexisting energy around the phone (so it doesn’t destroy your battery). If you’re in a meeting and know an important call will be coming through, Lunecase will be able to tell you that without having a loud ringer go off or super loud vibrations. The light up alert will usually go off before your phone screen even lights up which we found impressive. Click here for image source and where to purchase Lunecase.
