Yet another KickStarter gadget we found that many people will get very excited about. One of the drawbacks of any iPad is often the fact that the digital screen doesn’t lend itself to the most convenient way to type whenever you have to type extensive amounts. That has been one of the major appealing aspects of the Microsoft Surface for those that try and use their tablets outside of pure entertainment purposes and instead become a business asset.
There are a lot of keyboard/case combo’s that have been created over the past couple of years to try and offer solutions to people that want that for their iPad. Nibiqu tries to solve that problem by creating an ultra thin case that can double as a keyboard too. The case/keyboard actually connects to the iPad via a magnet which allows the flexibility to have both standing or sitting. While that might not seem like a big deal, it can easily be depending on the website you are looking at or the information you are reading and being able to switch from portrait to landscape can be very useful. Another nice feature besides the thinness of the product is that it can also be adjusted to different levels to match the eye level you prefer (50 degrees to 90 degrees in angles to choose from).
One thing that is tough about ultra thin keyboard/case hybrids is that the “real feel” of keyboards is lost but Nibiqu does well in maintaining that same look and feel. Keep in mind that this gadget is still a concept unless they manage to his their Kickstarting goal of $100,000 (they have reached $21,000 at the time of this blog post). So help them out and check out Kickstarter to get them going on this new case that could give people a business solution to tablets stuck in just the entertainment stage.
