What happens when the company that defined cool sunglasses decides to help out with the design of a flask? You get one of the coolest looking carbon fiber flasks you have ever seen along with a price tag that matches the price of that coolness. We all know that Oakley has never been the cheapest sunglasses so it should come as no surprise that the flask they help to design matches the usual expensive price tags. The other person that is a part of this design partnership is a well respected whiskey estate called The Macallan and they have decided to give the US a specific special. For the small price of $1,500 you can get the amazing flask along with a 22 year old bottle of Macallan scotch. While it is $1,500 for the whole flask kit, you do get a pretty nice bottle of scotch along with an amazing flask too.
Apparently the flask was made out of a bunch of fancy aerospace shuttle James Bond kind of stuff but what we really liked is that you can tell Oakley had their hands all over this flask. If you placed a set of their current sunglasses next to the flask, they would like very near cousins which is why any million dollar playboy should get one of these. For the rest of us living in the real world, it might not be that easy. Oakley also wanted to make sure that this flask had been rigorously tested and did so in perfect Oakley fashion. They took the flask out, attached it to a rope that was then attached to the back bumper of some very expensive sports cars. Those sports cars then did a series of drifting and flooring it from 0 to 60 while “The Flask” was being pulled from behind. Very cool test that made for a very cool video you can see by clicking here.
This is one of those products that is probably out of the range of many but was still very cool from a design perspective. Plus, if Oakley has anything to do with it, we are bound by man code to give it some coverage.
