There are a lot of animated gif’s out there that we hold dear to our heart (for the less technical savvy, animated gifs come in a compressed image form that can display animation). If you’re feeling sarcastic and don’t feel that sarcasm won’t show through in a simple line of text, there is a Conan O’Brien video to help convey that. For those that are big fans of Parks and Rec and throwing the internet out the window in frustration, a nice Ron Swanson animated gif could help show people your feelings. If you receive an email with a proposal or an idea that is terrible, you can send a nice animated gif of Joaquin Phoenix giving the thumbs down from Gladiator to kill that idea off really quick. When you have such a joyous moment that cannot be described in just a picture or a boring line of text, utilize Jean Claude Van Damme dancing like a happy idiot gif to show your happiness. All of these gifs are great but what about something that is uniquely yours and no one else’s? There’s a camera for that.
Otto is a new camera that is looking for funding and reserved purchases to put it into full production status. The premise behind Otto is that you film whatever items you want and Otto will actually spit the “video” out in the form of an animated gif. Everybody loves a good gif but not a lot of people know how to create their own so Otto will be able to help those that were previously “unhelpable”. You can utilize the Otto phone app as a trigger or to preview the gifs you take on the camera. Otto is also encouraging people to utilize their SDK to actually create their own camera modes which can add to the fun for customized animated gifs.
