I know that we keep harping on you to realize that Summer will be here shortly but we aren’t sure that you’re listening. You will be greeted with a patio in a few short weeks that is inviting, warm, and begs for you to have people over and experience it with you. As the people begin to pour in and out they will have to experience going in and out of your house just to grab a drink (like some sort of street vagrant). You might grab a cooler but most of those look pretty cheap and crappy so you have to look at other options.
What would be cooler than an old Tequila barrel that has been re-purposed to become an ice chest? We found one on Wine Enthusiast and believe that this gadget could make even Jack Sparrow blush. The reclaimed barrel will operate as an ice chest and actually showcase the beverages you’re offering instead of simply covering them up in a cheap plastic cooler. While it might not be ideal for tailgates because of its size, we do recommend something like this to people having house parties regularly. The barrel is just under 3 feet long and 2.5 feet tall (when shut) so you have a good idea of where you might be able to place this thing. We did want to bring it to our readers attention that under the Q&A section of this product, they were asked if there is insulation built into the barrel and the response was no. This could create some issues with keeping the ice froze and drinks cold but should still be one heck of a conversation starter. There is a plug at the bottom so you can easily drain the chest when you’re done. We do warn you to exercise caution because just being around a barrel that held that much tequila might make you a bit loopy (we all know how you get when you drink Tequila).
