Toer is a design studio (we think) that develops very creative products that garner a lot attention on the inter-webs. They create different products and do different designs for specific clients and trade shows. We glanced through their collection of products and items they created or helped designed and the lineup was impressive. They decided to create a very unique chair or stool that came up with a very clever way in how to make your bum just a bit more comfortable than flat old wood.
Toer created the Dome Stool and it looks like somebody put a slinky on top of a stool and somehow managed to make it look really comfortable. They mention on their website that they tried to create this stool with an appearance and feel that you are simply sitting on air. Toer used eighty some steel rods and curved them to to provide the look and transparent padding of the Dome Chair. They claim that the Pantheon inspired this design which doesn’t surprise us with how unique this design is.
Since we don’t always get to try out the different products we find, we always ask the first questions that come to our sick and twisted mind. The first question we had is if this seat would actually pinch your butt if the rods flexed back and forth as you got up and down off of the chair. We are guessing that isn’t a problem but something we definitely would be concerned about.
Keep a close eye on Toer and what they continue to do because they seem to be creative in the different items they are putting out.
