There is a moment for many of us when we go from having that crappy entry level job to being in the job force for a few years and getting a “big boy” job. The posters that you had strewn across the walls of your dorm room were great in your dorm room but they won’t make for much as decorations in your office. Jim Belushi sporting a ‘COLLEGE’ sweater and chugging a bottle of Jack Daniels doesn’t exactly scream professional. Does that mean you have to go out and purchase a bunch of those terrible motivational posters? No. What you need to do is find the perfect balance of coolness, maturity, and tasteful which can be a very difficult thing to do in a professional work space. The guys over at Inspired Designs sent us a free demo of their Ferrofluid Motion Lamp called The Inspiration which we believe is that perfect balance of all of those things.
They have managed to create a lamp that is sleek in design with a glass cylinder that holds the Ferrofluid and a very nice chrome base. In that chrome base is a 1o or 15 watt bulb that actually triggers the fluid in the lamp. You might view this as being something similar to a Lava Lamp but this is not affiliated with that brand at all. The really cool thing you can do with their lamp is grab a couple of magnets and start moving them around the glass cylinder (see the video above for what we’re talking about). The fluid will actually react to the magnets and be drawn to and from it allowing you to manipulate it in different ways. The light itself puts off a decent amount of light but nothing overbearing so it is perfect for a work space or nightstand. We loved the lamp and before you put up that Taylor Swift poster in your office, check out The Inspiration. Click here for image source and where to buy the Ferrofluid Motion Lamp.
