Baseball season has started and our Kansas City Royals are making some big waves in MLB (and if you don’t like it we will challenge you to a fight – KC Style!). Attendance has been way up which means people are really excited about the team. We’ve already gone to a few games this season and tailgated for each one. We didn’t realize how much of a pain traditional camp chairs were until we used them at tailgating. They take up a lot of room in the trunk and when you’re not using them, they take up a lot of room in your garage. If you have more than 4 chairs, you actually have to dedicate a section of your garage just to hang up all of those stupid folding chairs. A company called Therm-a-Rest sent us the solution to our problem which is the Treo Camp Chair.
The Treo was really impressive for a couple of reasons. The first impressive aspect was how the chair actually folded up into a very nice and neat little cylinder. When we first saw the tiny package the chair came in our first thought was, “there is no way an adult chair can fit into there”. As we peeled back the cylinder and got out the parts, we fell in love with the simplicity that they made this chair with. You have 6 total pieces which includes the case that doubles as the base of the chair. You fold out the composite pieces (which are surprisingly strong and durable) and connect the four rods to it. Simply slide the chair material to fit with the rods and you have a great camp chair! It’s also important to note that the seat is 13″ in seating height and can support up to 250 lbs. While we don’t want to share our weight, we can confirm that we’re over the 200 pound club and the chair was able to support us just fine.
