Selecting a phone case can be a difficult choice. Selecting a case that is too thick turns your phone into a Zach Morris brick phone and selecting one that is too small will leave you with zero protection. The new iPhones are pretty awesome but if you’ve tried to hold onto a 6+ or 6S+ with one hand, you will quickly realize that it is literally a “slick” phone. Trying to keep a phone without a case isn’t much of an option anymore but which one do you pick? Do you need one with a builtin battery to extend your phone life? Maybe but hopefully as phones continue to improve on battery life, we won’t need an oversized phone case to help get us through the week.
Urban Armor Gear (UAG) sent us a free demo of their Scout case for an iPhone 6/6s versions. It should be noted that a case built for the original 6 and 6+ should work for the 6S/6S+ so don’t think that you have to get a brand new one if you upgraded from that perspective. UAG created the Scout phone case in black and we were pretty excited about it. The shell of the case is strong enough that it is impact resistant but not so large that you can’t fit the phone into your pocket anymore. One of the most important parts of a case is that you can get access to all of your ports. Having to remove your case everytime you want to charge it or change your volume is cumbersome and stupid. UAB has given you full access to all ports and functionalities of the hardware of the phone. Even with all of this protection, the phone case manages to stay light which really helps as you get into the larger versions of smartphones. The one drawback we had is that the case holds the phone so well that it can sometimes be difficult to get your actual phone out of the case. We take our phone with us to jog which means we have to switch from our regular case to our armband one so that could potentially create a hastle. Other than that, the size, weight, and protection that the UAB case provides is top notch. Click here for image source and where to buy the UAB phone case.
