There is something American about grilling on a charcoal grill. All men stand proudly over their Weber grills waiting for a bald eagle to fly down carrying an American flag and perch on our shoulder. Anybody that used to watch King of the Hill knew how much Hank Hill was a proponent of propane but ask anybody and they will almost always tell you a charcoal grill tastes better. Those same men will then turn around and fire up their propane grill fully understanding that propane creates a second tier taste to any manly steak out there. The reason every guy gives for not using propane is because charcoal flat out takes too long.
Fear no more gentlemen because we managed to find the Weber Rapidfire Chimney Starter. It isn’t a giant water jug, it’s actually a metal container that holds charcoal in it. It is designed to load the charcoal and create an easy way to light the charcoal without having to use lighter fluid. The lighter fluid can create a taste to some foods out there that is undesirable to say the least which is one of the nice advantages of the Rapidfire Chimney Starter. Another nice advantage is the coals are actually baked evenly and at a very quick pace (hence the Rapidfire). We all know that coals can get pretty hot so we were worried that the handle that operates the Weber Rapidfire wouldn’t allow you to touch it but there is a stay cool thermoplastic handle which should allow you to move or operate the Rapidfire and drop the coals when they have completely heated up. This gadget is simple (which we love) and takes care of a problem (long cook times) which is why this great tool made it onto G4G. It is officially tailgate season and you will no longer have to rely on propane due to cooking times. Fire up the grill and watch people act like idiots when chewing on a big juicy burger.
